Serbia is currently adapting its waste legislation to the European Union. Beside improving the construction and management of landfills, also European standards regarding waste incineration are going to be adpated and implemented. In this regard, a White Book on Waste-to-Energy for Serbia will be elaborated by VIRWa. This White Book will not only summarize the current legislation in Serbia and the European Union with regards to thermal waste recovery, it will also contain valuable information on the best practice of Waste-to-Energy construction, operation and management, covering all aspects (including ash treatment and landfilling).
